Victorian Horrors!

UPDATE!!  What you need to know about the event:

SOLD OUT!!  We've purchased all 25 of the allowed tour slots in our time slot!  If you'd still like to do the tour you can contact the Molly Brown Museum directly and meet up with us later!  I have 21 tickets purchased and have been reimbursed for them all THANK YOU!  I still can get FOUR MORE if any of you stragglers are interested PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP!!  Also if you aren’t able to make the Molly Brown Tour please feel free to meet up with us at any of the pre or post tour locations.

Saturday October 25^th

For those of you interested in staying Downtown there is a FABO new hotel called the Curtis.  You can get rooms through an online special of $111.  This is a better rate than my corporate discount I told a few of you about.

6:30-8:15 PM meet at Pints Pub for pre-tour beverages and food!

8:30 PM You MUST be at the Molly Brown House by this time – this is check in time – get your ticket, tour promptly starts at 8:45 PM.

9:45 PM Tour ends head over to the Milk Bar for some RETRO DANCING!!!!  It’s New Wave Retro night so be ready for some ghoulish fun fun fun -  There are several bars/clubs in this area so don’t you worry if you want to move on you can!

Directions: All of the event locations are near one another and I’ve attached as well as posted a map that incorporates them all there are Driving and Walking directions.

My personal plan is to “cab it” from the Curtis to Pints – then cab or walk to the other destinations.  Jeff and I recently lived downtown and folks it’s not that far – all the locations from Pints are within half a mile of each other – you may even consider parking at the lot across from Pints and cabing walking the rest with us.  Please remember to BE SAFE!

Victorian Horrors
The Wicked Writings of Long Dead Authors

It’s a chilly October night. Imagine yourself walking through a 119-year-old house with only a few candles and dimly colored bulbs to light your way.  The door creaks as it closes.  The floorboards groan under the weight of each step.  You walk into a room and stop at the sight of a ghost – the master storyteller Edgar Allan Poe.  The back of your neck tingles and your blood turns cold as he reads a frightful tale. 

It’s Victorian Horrors at the Molly Brown House Museum, an evening of theater that has been described as entertaining and downright creepy.  The Wicked Writings of Long Dead Authors the Museum will present the 17th annual Victorian Horrors performances. Victorian Horrors is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.  Professional actors with more than 10 years experience make the stories and the setting come to life.   

This event is a blast!  It’s NOT a haunted house – it’s live theatre, short oratories in several rooms of the house – it’s just FANTASTIC.

Here is what you need to do to claim a spot on the tour.  Each tour can take roughly 20 people.  They ONLY do this event 4 nights a year so to get a spot I need to buy 20 spots ASAP.  The first 20 people to paypal or give me their funds gets one of those 20 spots for our group and I’ll purchase the whole time slot.  I don’t know what time we will get it could be anywhere from 6 -9 pm so we’ll have dinner/cocktails before or after depending.  FUN FUN!

RACE 2006!!!

RACE SHIRTS!!!

Hello RACERS!!

For those of you who are newbies, one of the fun things we do is create an annual RACE T-shirt that you can purchase! Jeff and I have volunteered to do the creative work this year and we are nearly done with the design! It's FABO!

Here is the deal: I must have all monies for shirts by Wed July 5th to get the order purchased and here in time. I will only order the number of shirts I have monies for. Cost is $12.50 PER SHIRT and I must have at least 20 shirts to even place the order. IF we get enough people to order 30 shirts, they are $11.50 and I will return your difference at race when I give you your shirt.

We are placing the BIG design on the back of the shirt not the front, and on the front will be a little logo (where a pocket would be on a pocketed shirt). Also the shirts are heather Grey, which will look awesome with the black and green logo. The shirts are champion tag-less pre shrunk cotton heavyweight 6.1oz. This is a quality tee shirt.

Feel free to put your initial request for a shirt down by leaving a comment here but please note you only have a week and a half from today to get your monies in to me.  I will post my address and pay-pal info on the evite!

Halloween Rocked

Five parties, three days, and one hell-of-a costume...  Ahhh that was long overdue! 

Thank you thank you, Shelly for one awesome night at club Moto (the whole club was closed to public for this private event that she was so kind to let 30 of my friends come to =) There were over 500 people there!

To Nagel for the kick ass house party OOC baby!  Full on tents in the back yard with heaters, a band and a giant ice shot slide!

To Aaron and Stacy who ALWAYS throw the full out Hollywood prop style parkway party.  (boy that punch was sure tasty!)

To all the other places I stopped along the way... thank you for your hospitality and hauntingly good time this was the best Halloween I've had in ages!

Lastly dear partying friends...  I love you all... what's up Friday night?  heheheheheh

Homecoming Weekend With My Pseudo Sorority Sisters!

I've got a GREAT group of girlfriends who have adopted me into their sisterhood.   They are sorority sisters from the school of mines in Golden who I initially met through playing Bunko and Softball (can you believe it's been 8 years Heidi?).   It truly was like a long lost family that I just fit right into, a sisterhood of cute, fun, highly intelligent engineering women.  (and a few boyfriends and husbands that have been picked up along the way=) This weekend was homecoming and Saturday night we had a reunion night on the town!  It was tons of fun and I got to see many of the girls from the Biannual Busts In Vegas trip I participated in this last December. (22 girlfriends in Vegas... can you imagine!?)  We talked, and drank (Coors of course) and sang songs and danced (A little Cowboy cha cha and some Jitterbug moves with long lost JOE!), as well as played the guess the butt photo opp. You can see all of it in the pictures.  It was a GREAT NIGHT...  Thank you for sharing and I'll see ya soon gals... 

Halloween and all things Greek!

(first off, before you all go correcting me I KNOW it's not Greek but more Druid/Celtic I've studied it all folks)  jeesh just read the post...

I'm soooo excited... I love Halloween.  I mean come on, the free reign to dress up and be anything you want to be???  WOO HOO!  So this year we have decided to do a group "theme".  This is an interesting story.  So, if you've happened to notice, I've listed on my left sidebar some interesting information regarding a new competition I'm in.  Affectionately I've named my competitor Apollo - the description of the Greek God fits him well and we'll work on the "relationship" issue Apollo is unfortunately associated with in mythology.  So of course, I had to pick a name for my self.  As I thought over all the Greek mythology I knew, The Titans, Olympians, Argonauts, Nymphs et. al. I remembered one that fit PERFECTLY... Yes NIKE (pronounced NEE Kay)  Nike is the Goddess of Victory.  Then another thought hit me... HEY I saw that statute and took a picture of it while I was in Paris!  It was one of Amy's favourites as well.  Where my picture isn't so great... This one from the Louvre website is much better.  It was a perfect fit and hoped to be quite intimidating to Apollo.  We shall see how the games turn out.

Now, moving on to Halloween I told Apollo hey, why don't we go as those characters it would be great!  With that, a friend who's rented a whole club for a private party, and a ton of you interested folks... we're going all out GREEK MYTHOLOGY THEME this year!  Join us if you like, any costume is welcome this is just a theme my group of friends is doing.  If you didn't get the invitation shoot me an email... it is invitation only but I will be happy to supply you with the link to get it!   So far the following costumes are taken: (again email me if you want yours added here no worries if not)

MUDD VOLLEYBALL PICS UP!

It was really a Muddy good time!  Every year I think I enjoy it more and more!  For prosperity's sake I would like to go down right now and say...  NOTHING HAPPENED IN THE PORTALET.  Big E, shame shame on you for spreading those rumors...  and JR next time can you pick a better location for the masses to overhear. You know, some grassy knoll with flowing flowers and such.

This was one of the funnest things I've ever done.  It was a three day fun filled weekend event with Friday night being the black tie ball with a Latin theme, hence my flamenco dress!
